I wanted to cook smaller portions without doing every conversion by hand. In the first test, I supplied two Good Food recipe extracts and asked for six pancakes rather than twelve, and four curry portions rather than eight.
Tiiny halved the pancake ingredients but left much of the curry unchanged. A follow-up corrected several quantities, yet it still said to use a whole potato, squash and aubergine while claiming everything had been halved. Buying a whole vegetable and using half are different instructions; the answer did not keep that distinction clear.
A separate test used authored recipes for a four-person dinner, a kitchen stock list and available package sizes. I asked it to scale ingredients, combine shared items, deduct stock and round the shortages into packages.
That calculation checked out. The shopping rows covered eight products in nine packages, including two 150 g mushroom packs for a 200 g shortage. Rice, garlic and sesame oil stayed off the list because stock covered them. Missing prices stayed unknown.
The two runs used different recipe packs, so they do not measure improvement on the same task. I would keep the required quantity beside the package quantity and check both before shopping. Neither run ordered groceries; the first conversion remained wrong after the follow-up.
